Web Design Process
What You Can Expect
With over 20 years of experience in website design, we've honed a process that minimizes confusion and maximizes productivity. Whether you're looking for a hands-on approach or prefer to let us take the reins, our web design process is flexible to suit your needs.
Below is our six-phase web design process, guiding you from our initial meeting to the final product and implementation. Each phase is designed to ensure that your vision is realized with precision and efficiency.
Vision
Stimulus will host an initial discovery meeting (Kick-Off Meeting) with the Client to discuss the website expectations in depth. This will include desired functionality as well as website likes and dislikes. We will also look at market research to design a website that reaches the right target audience(s) and addresses their needs. A client session can be scheduled to address more in-depth website needs.
Session (optional)
This session is a great way to get all of the stakeholders and key players in one room to discuss the website. During this session we will look at how your website is used, what processes your organization would like the website to simplify and what audiences you are trying to reach. We find that when there are multiple key players it can be difficult to tackle everyone's needs without the proper discussion.
Strategy
In Phase 3, Stimulus will develop the initial structure (menu, page layout, color scheme, etc.) of the website solution framework. A live demo will be submitted to the client for approval before further work begins on the site. During this time, the Client should be collecting/preparing all information and content that they would like present on the site.
Design
After the live demo has been approved, Stimulus will continue to implement design, content, components and functionality for the new website. Client sessions can be held if more discussion is needed. Stimulus can also develop a launch plan where target dates are set for when specific pages should be completed. Client should continue to collect, prepare and send content for the site.
Deliver
During this phase, Stimulus will work with the client to test the site and ensure that all content, photos and layouts are approved. After final approval from the client, Stimulus will move the site to the live account and perform their after- launch checklist. A sitemap will be submitted to the various search engines, Google Analytics will be added and Google Search Console will be set up. Proper redirects from the old site will also be created.
Implementation
After a client training session, Stimulus will assist with any additional requests, further improvements or further design needs/solutions from the client. This can also include an ongoing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plan to make sure your website appears in key search results.
