Some people build buildings, others build cars, but we build stories...brand stories to be exact!
Jamerson-Lewis Construction, a construction company based in Lynchburg, Virginia, needed a way to showcase their services and the work they did throughout the area. A video was the best way to do this. While Jamerson-Lewis had previously done a few videos, they lacked visuals for their projects.
That's where we came in. We worked with Jamerson-Lewis to create a visual story that would position Jamerson-Lewis as a top construction company in the area—both to work for and to do work with.
The video needs to explain who they were, showcase what made them different, display their work, and create a lasting impression that would lead to new customers and new projects.
The goals
We sat down with Jamerson-Lewis and established a set of goals for this video. While this wasn't considered a "huge" project, we wanted to ensure that we devoted the same excellent attention to detail here as well. Below are just a few of the goals that we wanted this video to accomplish:
Explain who Jamerson-Lewis is.
Explain what makes them different.
Showcase their work.
Showcase their services.
Make a lasting impression on future clients.
The Building Blocks
Just like with any building project, we had to start with the blueprint. We worked with the goals that were established to determine what style of video we wanted to create. From there, our team developed an overall script and then determined the imagery that should be included.
While we would normally do a full storyboard, because of the amount of projects involved, we decided to just make a list of shots that were needed to complete the video.
Time to Build
A big part of video creation is making sure you have the right imagery. Once our storyboard was approved, it was time to get to work capturing various scenes and B-roll.
This B-roll, paired with videos of various projects, was put together to create an impactful story.
We were careful to pick music that would pull the viewer's attention and also match the overall vision of the video. We also handled the recording of the voiceover, utilizing local talent that we could trust to get the job done.
Move-In Ready - The Finished Product
After all of the planning (creating the blueprints, determining the materials, etc), it's always great to get to the finished product. It's time to move in and we are the listing agents that are going to give you the tour.
Putting this video together was a complete honor. We love when we get a chance to tell our client's brand stories and that's exactly what we were able to do here. We took what we knew about Jamerson-Lewis, paired it with what their potential clients and future employees would be looking for, and created an introductory video that stands out amongst the competition.
From capturing videos of current and previous projects to putting each piece together to create a visual and impactful story, we met each of the goals and ended up with a beautiful product.
